Comfort Zones… Catalyst for Change

What if I told you the people who are against you are really helping you?  I know you’re saying – excuse me, what?

Really though, what if the difficult [insert which ever applies] co-worker,  supervisor, professor, or friend really is helping you.  They may not be giving you a “helping hand”, but it may be that push you need.  A push out of your comfort zone.

Change usually doesn’t happen till we are uncomfortable.

Many of us are not pursuing our dreams/passions/purpose because we are too comfortable.  In an effort to move you, the universe introduces “disturbances”.  These people who aggravate or disturb your comfort are agents and catalysts for change in your life. They are the “it” the starts to close one door while you have the opportunity to open another.

Are you ready to get uncomfortable?

I love audible books and today I finished listening to Issa Rae’s The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl. At the very end of the book she thanked a negative co-worker for being one of the reasons she left the comfort of her NYC job and started her YouTube web series Awkward Black Girl. This web series capitulated Issa into success and her own HBO show.

Who are you going to look back and thank for that push?

  1. I have to say each of your posts have been on point. I don’t have the pros an issue but this can still apply to situations and circumstances I’m dealing with right now. Loving your blog and thinking deeply on how to go about making some changes for the better.
